  • What's the name of the gourd in zui quan?I'm trying to by one and can't find it :(

  • @Susanoo58 No need to ask forgiveness. As I've said, it's sort of the style that chooses the user and not the other way around. Experiment, try new things - I practice WudangQuan but still tried Muay Thai and Karate. And, yeah, I agree the katana is an awesome sword (insert anime fan repellent here - you know what I mean), but it's not my kind of weapon. Jian and Guan Dao 4 me ^_^

  • @AndyRaslan - Oh, I totally agree with you on this subject. Each weapon has it's function in battle. I have studied 3 different schools of Japanese swordmenship and I have grown tired of the pseudo-experts on youtube! The katana is a nice two handed saber ... but the katana evolved from the Chinese "Zhan Ma Dao" of the Song Dynasty, or known as the "Pu Dao" in modern times. Forgive me for babbling ... I am developing an interest in Chinese Martial arts.

  • @Susanoo58 That strictly depends. A sword is much faster than a halberd, and a katana, as a cutting sword (as opposed to thrusting swords like the Jian) has a deadly combination of speed and cutting power. The advantage of the Guan Dao is reach and power (as, even if you're not hit by the blade, the sheer force behind the swing is more than enough to crack bones, so disarming or parrying a guan dao wielder is difficult).

Every weapon is formidable in its own right. It just needs the right user.

  • The great thing with drunken boxing (especially Sifu Neil Ripski's) besides the use in combat is the gread body developement! Its hard, but you get very strong, enhance your balance (since i train, i NEVER fall on my arse, no matter how drunken or stoned I am^^) and speed. The feeling for you body changes. Its awesome! I love it!

  • Awesome video ... also, an awesome weapon! Far more formidable than a katana!

  • Really nice video, nice to see someone who knows what they're doing!

  • Thanks. Enjoyed it very much !!!

  • If you train your respective style correctly, they are all useful in a street situation. Wing Chun, Praying Mantis, Shaolin,Drunken Fist,Snake, Karate,Boxing,Wrestling, All of these are fighting arts, its just comes down to if you trained your art to fight or to pretend by pulling your punches like in tourniments.

  • @TheIpmanFan Sifu's drunken is a combat style, it can be used in any fight if you train it well. I have felt first hand that Sifu Neil's drunken is very useful in a real fight.
