The operas and oratorios were presented as commercial ventures - business enterprises. Handel was prominent in the London "theatre scene",and the box-office was of major concern. The commercial aspect does not detract from the quality of the music or the stature of the composer. Even Messiah was first performed at Neill's Music Hall,Fishamble Street,Dublin,Ireland as a commercial enterprise;it was not done as "church" music. The historical facts are clear.

And that moronic american woman who speaks at the end, implying that Handel's music was composed in order to get the "fannies in the seats" and that "Handel was a business man" should be taken to the town square and have her idiocy beaten out of her in full view of all who truly value the Sublime Handel.
