It's stately yet never turgid. It's brimming with emotion but never clogging up. Bach is a diamond, a liquid crystal.

Conoscendo il carattere e lo stile di Glenn Gould avrei giurato che avesse trasfigurato l'aspetto di questa composizione. Invece, per quello che percepisco io, ha spostato lo stile di questa Aria Variata almeno a 50 anni prima lo stile esecutivo. Nella esecuzione di Emil Gilels ho commentato che questa composizione mi ha fatto sempre pensare a Dietrich Buxtehude, forse perché avevo studiato anche l'Aria More Palatino !! Comunque, un Gould notevole !!!

Gould's playing is simply incomprehensible.

Encore la négativité française, comme d'habitude. Il va sans dire que si on aime pas à 100 %, on n'aime pas sa mère. La bêtise à son sommet. Je réponds pour ne pas laisser toute la place aux imbéciles congénitaux qui se servent de l'internet pour insulter des gens qu'ils ne connaissent même pas pour une phrase postée il y a deux ans en se permettant de se mettre en positionauto-proclamée de gardien du temple de Gould qui n'a jamais rien demandé. I have to say, that these Variations are beautiful. They are very compact, very interesting. They are not as well-known as Goldberg variations. But they are not less good. I have nothing to say about Gould. Gould = Bach

In fact i change my rate. The variations are extremely intelligent and transitions as well. As usual, Gould is surprising !
