Samm Bennett Supports Japan

Singer and songwriter Samm Bennett, a longtime resident of Japan, from Alabama, with his offering for ASJ, "Grateful Wanderer", recorded live at the Christian Academy of Japan Theatre in Tokyo on April 8, 2011. Here Samm is accompanying himself on the stick dulcimer.

アラバマ州出身シンガー・ソングライターのサム・ベネットは日本に住む期間も長く、Artists Support Japan 「日本を支援するミュージシャン達」に提供してくれた『Grateful Wanderer』は、2011年4月8日に東京 Christian Academy of Japan Theatre のライブでレコーディングされたものである。ここでは、サムはスティック・ダルシマーを自分で伴奏している。

Hello friends - Samm Bennett here. When I was asked by the folks at Artists Support Japan to add a video to the Youtube channel here, I immediately thought of a certain tune I'd written a few years ago, and coincidentally had just performed for the first time, a few days ago, here in Tokyo at a benefit concert for Quake and Tsunami Relief. The song is basically about the value of human friendship and help, human interdependence; a bit autobiographical based on some things that happened to me along the way, particularly in times of travel. The song is called "Grateful Wanderer." It was recorded live at the Christian Academy of Japan Theatre on April 8, 2011.

ハロー、皆さん。サム・ベネットです。Artists Support Japan 「日本を支援するミュージシャン達」の方々からYoutube チャンネルにビデオを投稿してくれないかと頼まれた時、すぐに数年前に書いたある曲が思い浮かんだのですが、偶然にも、2.3日前にちょうど、地震と津波に対するチャリテ­ィ・コンサートを行い、ここ東京で初めてその曲を披露したばかりです。この曲は基本的に、人間の友情と助け合いの大切さについてです、人間は持ちつ持たれつ、ということで­すね、少し自叙伝的な、特に僕の、旅の道すがらに起こったことに基づいています。「Grateful Wanderer」という曲です。2011年4月8日にthe Christian Academy of Japan Theatre のライブでレコーディングされました。
