This is a digital age, one in which a wealth of accessible information empowers you, but where is the information coming from? How accurate and unprocessed is it? How empowered do you feel debating a television screen or a newspaper? The task is to move the discussion away from talking heads and talking points, and give it back to you. That is Big Think's mission.

@erikAsuxxxweewee as i just pointed out... He is. the bible is a reliable collection of historical documents composed by eye witnesses in the lifetime of other eyewitnesses attesting to supernatural events claiming to be written by different men over hundreds of years yet authored/inspired by God Himself.
and by the way, the closest ancient historical document doesn't come within MILES of the documentary support that the bible has.

@erikAsuxxxweewee secondly its "tacitus" (if you were familiar with the roman/greek culture or historical fact in general you'd have known that) and he was a roman historian who ALSO had every reason to discredit Christ but... didn't. he wrote about Jesus as historical FACT.
this is what i mean. you just don't have a good understanding of history, obviously.

@erikAsuxxxweewee actually its josephus and he was a jewish historian. are you seriously this bad at history? the jews hated Christ... the fact that josephus wrote about His miracles just stands as evidence to not only support Christ's existence but the reality of His miracles. in case you're not keeping up josephus was in the group that had every reason in the world to disavow any knowledge of Christ... and yet they wrote about Him... and His miracles... as historical fact.

@erikAsuxxxweewee you're parroting bad information that has been parroted by other sources like the zeitgeist video (and absolutely refuted by actual historical documentation, not that you'd care about that part).
first off, crucifixion didn't exist in 3000BC aaaand pretty much everything else you just said was completely incorrect. ya know, cause you're just repeating bad information you heard from some crappy youtube video.

"The christian religion is a parody of the worship of the sun, in which the put a man called Christ(Christos which means the anointed one) in the place of the sun, and pay him adoration originally payed to the sun"
- Thomas Paine 1737- 1809

@anonazero and furthermore you'd think i guy that rose from the dead and ascended into heaven would be in scientific historical text and not in hundreds of different types manuscripts and languages would make it into the history books in every public school because there are very high odds that the figure known as jesus never existed.

@anonazero Josephs and tasitus defenders of your faith, have claimed to write about his time here, but that source has been proclaimed as a forgery for years, isn't it ironic you just towards calling me ignorant just because i don't subscribe to your particular faith, im sure thats what every society would love to indoctrinate and tell there children, about how there is an eternal infernal or an afterlife with 72 virgins, wake-up! religion is mind manipulation! Brainwash!

@erikAsuxxxweewee zeus and apollo have zero historical documentation and more conflicting stories than you can imagine. there is no truth there, it all falls apart. secondly, there isn't a collection of historical documents composed by eye witnesses in the lifetimes of other eyewitnesses translated into multiple languages with tens of thousands of manuscripts to support the greek myths.
3. well that just shows your ignorance.
