James Emerson Appreciation Day singing "Toiling On"

(1 of 2 videos) James Emerson, long time Gospel Preacher from Humboldt, Tennessee. James is also known for his booming bass voice and loves to sing as much as he loves to preach. In the 1970's James, with the support of his wonderful wife (Olesta), and brother (Harold) worked tirelessly with the teens of the Third Street Church of Christ in Humboldt, TN and surrounding communities. One of the ways that he kept the youth off the street was by encouraging them to sing together. The "Youth Seekers" were formed, practiced every Friday night, and sang on many occasions from Texas to Chicago. Thirty plus years later, the Youth Seekers got together for a reunion to honor James during the summer of 2010, realizing that his health was declining. In this video, James unites with the "old" Youth Seekers one more time to sing "Toiling On". Heaven's gates "swung open" for James just a few months later on December 19, 2010 and his "Home Going Celebration" was Christmas Eve... and what a GREAT CELEBRATION it was for this soldier of the cross. Jesus said,"I AM the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. He is not the God of the dead, but of the LIVING!"
