  • Not really fly tying is it???

  • Why is it not fly tying? It is a lure/fly that is light enough to be delivered by a fly rod to catch a fish. It has a thread base tied on along with a tail and weedguard. It may not be traditional Catskill type of fly tying, but is fly tying. One must remember that in the U.S., many of the early lures for fly rod were variations of bait casting lures and did not resemble the traditional catskill fly in any way. This was particularly true for bass and bream fishermen and now redfish.
