@mika3014 seriously? have you ever had a baby? MANY small babies NEED to be swaddles (have their arms wrapped tightly to them) or they will wake themselves up, or be very frightened. babies are NOT grown ups. one of the babies i've taken care of would scream unless he was tightly swaddled until he was 3 months old. learn about babies a little, why don't you?
-
how can you do that to your child? would you like to be wrapped like that? what are you doing to her arms? GOD!!!!!!!
-
interesting take on swaddling - we'll give it a try.
vid is a bit hard to watch though, camera is all over the place - probably should've got a mate to film it for you...
-
please don't try this at home....

Your little girl is beautiful! She's waaay less squirmy than my baby; he would never lie still to let me do that, LOL :o) One suggestion that could have made your video better would be to have had someone else film it - it was making me dizzy with all that movement! ;o)

why cant her arms be free?

I think immobilizing arms like here in the video is very essence of swaddling. My baby, and as I have read many other ones, do break free from well-reviewed swaddling blankets unless the cloth is wrapped around their arms again under his back.
I think the advantage of this approach is minimal wrapping good in hot weather. In other cases I would go for actual product e.g. Mothercare Miracle blanket.

wow, i know it works for you, but i would hate to put my son like that to sleep. Looks like your baby is tied down. Think i will just stick with using his grow bags.
looks like torture!

@peypeyneekin Babies have what's called a startle reflex and until they outgrow that reflex a lot of babies will wake themselves up. Basically they jump in their sleep and scare themselves awake. Plus, being swaddled mimics being in the womb because before their born their arms are naturally pinned, it's comforting. A lot of babies won't sleep any other way.
