thanks for the wood idea. I could never think of a good way to test a motorcycle drivetrain.

dude that wood thing does nothing but wreck your tire. besides why are you even trying to run the thing at that stage i mean like if your a "smart mechanic" you should know that it will run/ shift just by the way you re-built it like come on your kinda jumping the gun by doing what your doing here...

It was not really my intent to offend you.
Nothing wrong with redneck engineering. Just never seen it done like that. The engines I have put into vintage Japanese motorcycles were tested in the frame of the motorcycle they went in. That's just me. If I had spare frames enough to build a test/break-in stand I might do that. Just never had the reason to.
I prefer an extra cam too. But the SOHC Hondas really put their name out there.

Whats up with the wood? Well I ain't no redneck. Just a mechanic smart enough to know that when you rebuild an engine (and yes it is a 1971 SOHC 750 cafe project) that it will allow me to test the engine and transmission before it goes into the motorcycle frame. I'm guessing that you are the redneck or you don't know shit about vintage motorcycles!
