So I want to clear some things up before you go and call me racist. I most certainly am not. I find the confederate flag to be a symbol of having pride about where I'm from. I was born and raised in the south and I love it. Every place in this world has a different flag. Does that make them racist? No. It shows how proud they are to be from that particular area.

The confederate flag was the flag that was used by the confederate army during the war with the northern United States. It not the fault of the south that some idiots use it for there own symbol of hatred. Skin heads wave the American flag but we dont call everyone who waves the American flag a racist. There are always going to be people who want to challenge you. You just have to hold true to what you know in your heart. Forget the rest.

@punkangel000 You're from America, so be proud of your American flag. The South is no longer an official state of government, therefore, logically, you still support the South being independant (which indicates many other things). Stop being a sectionalist, and start being proud of your country.

@warrenwilbertblack Actually, anyone who read a history book beyond the high school level knows that the civil war had very little to do with slavery. It was an issue of unconstitutional behavior and policies that favored the north (tariffs, etc) which caused the south to break from the union. Most European nations even supported the South's right to do so, as did most of our nation's founders. I'm a northerner, but unfortunately, the north was the aggressor in that war.

what does it matter what flag is where they r just flags so what the history of it thats just it its history it dont have to mean the same thing today. we fly a rebel flag in front of our house but we aint raceist. just pride in our heritage.

Our economy finally started to catch up just about 50 yrs ago-y'all did steal ALL our money. Individually my family wont ever recover so ya I'm mad but that doesnt mean I dont love America-it just means I love Southern America more than northern America.

@bkracer82 Hey look the Civil War is over. The flag of the South does not symbolize racism as mush anymore but more as a symbol of the south. The Nazi symbol till symbolizes Genocide, War, destruction, death, and dictatorship oh and some racism. You have no right to say anyhting abouth the south's flag while the swatstika symbolizes things far worse!
