This video is the easy one. It shows the general current working state and a walk through of the insides of the radio and the preamp/compressor. This radio doesn't seem to need any major repairs. So far it looks like it needs a lot of small things fixed.

  • love the vid will be looking 4 the next one hope you get that one workin,73,s dusty

  • @satanicgoth666g Thank you Dusty. Glad you liked the vid. I'm going to try to get everything working correctly on her. So far nothing serious has surfaced. It would be so nice for this one to be a easier fix. I've had some real tough ones in the last year or so. Those tough to fix ones wear me out as well as burn me out on working on them. 73's Paul

  • I wish we could get those radios here in the UK. Cracking video mate!

  • @milradio1 Thank you Ian. Until recently I had never thought about since the UK legalized CB much later then the U.S. that you guys missed out on most if not all of the CB valve rigs. I realize the shipping and import fees makes bringing them in from the states and Canada very pricey. It's truly a shame because these old rigs can be a lot of fun, and a bit of a pain to keep running as well. Of course all ours are mid band mostly straight AM although we had some valve SSB rigs to.

  • Cool video Paul!!! Cant wait for the next for the next one! 73's Tony

  • @mralh03 Thanks Tony. It might take me a little while for video 2. I haven't got started on repairs and tracing things yet.

  • Paul,

Do me a favor! Look at the receive crystals and tell me the freq marked on them! My receive won't work and I think I am using the wrong crystals IE are your receive crystals 455kc above or below the transmit freq!

    thanks

  • Looks like mine!

  • @gadget73 I thought of that as well but it shows RX signal strength on stronger stations. I'll eventually trace it all down and find out for sure.

  • @m0ogy Thank you Dave.

  • @KC8YOQ Thank you Ernie.
