4 Laps in the Dark - Buckmore Park Kart Track - Chatham - Kent - Club100 Open Enduro - 22Feb09

On-board footage from first round of Club100 2009 Open Endurance Series on newly bored-out 115cc TKM 'Extreme' engines on last year's Birel chassis around Buckmore Park. A great circuit with the changes in level and blasting up and down the hill. Floodlighting is pretty good too when it gets dark......RM ;-)

why is it every now and then the kart drivers stick their hand up or out?

Drivers put their hand up to acknowledge a yellow flag and show drivers behind they are slowing down to pass an incident on the track. Drivers also put their hand up to indicate that they are coming into the pits. This is particularly important at Buckmore where the pit entry is at the very fast downhill section and can result in a nasty accident if someone slows for the pits without indicating and collects a driver behind coming down the hill at full speed.........RM ;-)

What camera are you using, and can it record more than 4 laps?

I have a Viosport bullet camera with 520tv lines quality and a DV500 personal video recorder that records onto SD cards. I can get about 4hrs high quality video onto a 4GB card. See the dogcamsport website for info on camera and recorder options. You-Tube only allow 10min videos though - so take a look at my stuff on Revver for longer ones. Search for user RMtrackcam. Rm ;-)

I think I'd find that really distracting the way your shadow keeps overtaking you at 300mph!!

It can be a bit wierd the first time it flicks past your shoulder - just as you are about to turn into a fast corner - you can easily think some loony is diving up the inside at 100mph and take avoiding action! ;-)
