  • Canada has American football

  • No. Canada has Canadian football.

  • yea but im sure tackle football originated in the US

  • Again, no. The Canadian game emerged from rugby in the mid 19th century. Although the Canadian and American games developed concurrently, they did develop seperately, hence the unique elements (such as 12 men per side, 110 X 65 yard field, rouge points, etc.) in the Canadian game that originated in rugby.

  • i thought this was tackle football. Is it not?

  • Yes.........???????????

All tackle football played in North America was based on English rugby, and both Canadian and American football started in the mid 19th century.

Because the games are very similar does not mean that Canada has American football. It is distinctly Canadian football, as it has been for 150 years.
