I don't know what made them decide to invest money in an MMO.. I don't think people played Shenmue for the amazing fighting.. it was more for the emotional and deep story of Ryu.

Shenmue I/II were great games, but they were commercial failures which is why the series was never complete (and attempting to make an MMO out of it was such a terrible idea which strengthened the failure). Yu Suzuki left Sega last year, so there's a 99.9% chance that the series will never be complete. :l

i don't know what happened to this project...but truly...they should have finished their master piece with shenmue 3 who the hell would want a shenmue online?! we want see ryu not some random guy and we want to play as him too!

@medarkwolf1996 Just saying if you really don't know, Shenmue I come out in Japan in 1999 and for NA and EU in 2000 and Shenmue II for Japan and EU in 2001 and in 2002 for NA on the xbox. Shenmue Online never got released.
