The World's Biggest Food Fight - La Tomatina 2010 in Bunol, Spain

I was at the world's biggest food fight - the tomato-throwing festival in Spain. I'm going to smell like tomatoes for weeks!

I was there this year but it's quite overrated really. There were tooooo many people cramped in narrow streets, I was afraid a stampide like in Germany was going to happen because a whole load of people including me were being moved down a street almost to be trampled on. I could put my feet in the air and id be carried around due to the tiny space there was for each person. When the tomatos did come though it was fun but changes have to be made.

I saw a vid on this last year, and I wanted to go do the tomato fight right then! Those Spaniards sure know how to live it up! Now what was that greased pole for?

@genmama1955 Every year, a big piece of ham is tied to the top of that greasy pole. People will battle and try to reach the top to pull it down. If you manage to do it, you get to keep the ham and have ultimate bragging rights. No one had reached the top for the past few years... this year someone made it to the top, but he didn't pull the ham down for some reason... perhaps he was so caught up in the excitement that he forgot to do it?

I was there this year and caught in the crush, it was insane there was grils passing out all around me. They were being passed over the crowd but to where I dont know it was crazy. The tomato fight we found about 2 hours latter no where near the crush was on the other hand fantastic fun!!!!

I was there and it was a major crush you are right - extremely dangerous and unbelievably hot. We gave up and left the unbreathable street after an hour and a half and waited till the crowds died down in the end. Then we made our way to the tomato river!
