honestly, i'm pretty sure it's a coincidence. "[dididi] for africa" is just a slang term (that i still don't really understand), and when they said slave, i doubt they were thinking of a shackled black man.
but put the two sentences together and WACKINESS ENSUES
though i'd be pretty surprised if nobody noticed the connection before it went to print so who knows really
