  • most sound directors realised within weeks that all the shots they could do in a silent film were possible in sound, just shoot with an electric camera silently, adding sound afterwards. The big change was from hand cranked cameras to steady running cameras for sound, they were not all locked in booths or immovable, it just took a bit of thought from the Director to get the shots right.

  • Thank you Rouben Mamoulian for rescuing the camera from its lifeless standstill and bringing it back to a purposeful life, a life it once had in the glorious silent era.

  • Pretty impressive for the time that this film was made. It has a modern feeling to it in my opinion. Great beginning sequence I've never heard of this film, I'm 19 but its great!!!

  • Could you please show the whole film?

  • en esta película se explotan varias posibilidades del sonido.
