David Cook sings with Rhett Akins

I have been a huge fan of Rhett Akins ever since his first album back in 1995. He is the country artist that I most identify with because we come from similar backgrounds, are almost the same age, and probably had very similar life experiences before he became well known. Our musical influences are very similar and we like the same styles of music. He has been consistant over the years in his product, and has not gone pop like some of the others in country. I respect him for keeping it country when the labels were pushing everyone in another direction. It probably cost him some money over the years, but you have to respect an artist that doesn't bow down to Music Row. He is a true outlaw, much like Waylon and Hank Jr. that came before him.
