Lol they never seem to get real rock musicians In there usually just close to rock musicians. Eminem did the eminem show which he described as a mix of rock and rap and I agree so why isn't he in there?

@kristinparker22 It must be because of the way they injected hip-hop with rock 'n roll. That's what Em says, anyway. Some of the earliest hip-hop I've heard is light and funny . . . it's almost joke party music. Perhaps Run DMC were the first (or among the first?) to rap with a Mick Jagger-like swagger? They gave hip-hop the bad ass edge we know and love today? Hmmm . . . if so, then I didn't realize that that grit came from the rock influence. And that makes me *really* love Run DMC.

@XxXxMetallicAxXxXxX Yeah, this left me scratching my head a bit. I mean, I love the idea of honoring Run DMC, but they aren't rock, so . . . what's the convention? Do you know if other hip-hop people have gotten inducted? Is the Rock 'n Roll Hall of fame a hall of fame for popular music stars of all kinds? Guess so . . .

Wow, didn't know all that about them, thanks Em. Great speech, very classy. He couldn't have done a better job making it a "big" moment for them and, given their giant achievements, they deserved it.
