Save Our Schools Call to Action. Since 1635 Americans Supported Public Schools. Today, children are left behind. Administrations Race To The Top. Some say The Race leads to Nowhere. Others observe students fall further down. The bottom is near. Might we, the people, again honor public education as our forefathers did..."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."
— Thomas Jefferson
We thank you America for your strong support of public schools.
Thomas Jefferson believed in the importance of quality education for the common good. His words echo the need for saving our schools today... The only true way to ensure democracy is to have an educated populace. He wrote the Bill for Establishment of a System of Public Education and introduced it to the Virginia Legislature. Jefferson , contrary to common belief, attended formal schooling starting at 5 years old and through college at William and Mary. This movement resonates Jefferson's core!

It's interesting that a movement that is intrinsically dominated by socialists and communists would quote Thomas Jefferson.
Even more interesting because Thomas Jefferson was home schooled.
