@Abelhawk Meh.. i dissagree. 5 was a allright attemt to kickstart.. but it has not the feeling of HoMM anymore. 6 is just plain for the Money no creativity here.. 3 was EPIC and Perfection ! But 4 OMFG ! 4 was so horrible ! It shocked the world out of HoMM forever! Comparing any other failures to HoMM4 is like Comparing a Firecracker to the Atom Bomb :D Damn i hated that game!!!
HoMM3 Epicness ! Just won a game ^^ !

@Abelhawk Please dont STOP ! . I dont like the Might and Magic games by Ubisoft much too , however i dont want those awesome MaM series to be forgot. Rather crappy games than no games.Might and Magic must not die :(.

H2 - Awesome. Classic and fun (though with crappy AI)
H3 - The pinnacle of HoMM perfection.
H4 - Kind of crappy, okay in some ways but mostly dissapointing.
H5 - Okay, 3DO isn't even MAKING you anymore!

@Abelhawk I would say it a bit differently
H1 - Wonderful start of even more wonderful series
H2 - Amazing classic
H3 - Homm at its best (although the hardcore fans should move on :P)
H4 - Great game, although the changes in the system weren't accepted by the community (but still my personal favourite)
H5 - Great addition to the series, amazing resurrection of the homm trademark
H6 - Something that could have been a wonderful game ruined, belongs to garbage
