Because of all the work I've been doing in the past year or more I had little time to work on small projects like this, I wasn't even sure I would be able to finish it. Due to high demand, I have given it another shot. I found that I couldn't explain everything and give a good ending to the story in only 10 minutes, so I have come to the realization that it might be in 5 or so parts now.

The beginning pictures were taken by Bill Atkinson as he worked on the graphical user interface for the Lisa and Macintosh brand of computers. Much of the Lisa project was ported to the Macintosh line, including the Mac graphics system known as Quickdraw.

The interview with Steve Jobs was done when he was still at NeXT and not apart of Apple.

Much of the accounts between Apple and Microsoft during the lawsuits was brought forth in the Microsoft anti-trust cases during the late 90s.

  • BOOO! I would do the same thing. Shitter... lol.. Also, what exactly is Carbon? Im a mac user, hear a lot about it, but am not sure completely what it is...

  • Carbon was essentially the old Mac OS application environment polished and then natively ported to Mac OS X. It essentially allowed universal apps that ran on the classic OS and Mac OS X. Today Apple uses Carbon mainly for C++ developers and the porting of apps from other systems. Carbon apps tend to lack core features you normally see in Cocoa.

A few examples are iTunes (bought by Apple), Final Cut(bought by Apple), Adobe's software(Ported to Carbon and will be ported to Cocoa in CS5).

  • boooo to IE. why didnt they choose Netscape

  • Both Netscape and IE were pre-installed, but IE was set as the default. It was apart of their deal.

  • i am loving this series man awesome work can't wait for the next one, how long do you think it will take for you to finish the next one

  • Almost all of the raw editing is laid out. I'm hoping to get it uploaded in a few days time, unlike the previous ones that took a few months.
