Connors wins 6-1,6-1,6-4, in 92 minutes.
However this match was not one sided as the score reads, apart from the first set, which was 20 minutes. Fact - The Australian Tennis Legend - then aged 39- had a long road to the final including a 5 -set SF. win over Stan Smith, the 1972 winner. Jimmy in 1974 was running hot !!!. Connors also had a big serve then. Look for some classic Rosewall Backhand winners !

Rosewall... could beat Hoad but not Connors?

ken rosewall like nadal (righty) is a natural lefty but plays right handed that's why his backhand is considered as the greatest classical stroke of the game...nice video

@SeventiesMania I mean, he became so strung up by trying to get past Borg in the late 70s, he had nothing left when McEnroe came on the scene... but apart from 84 when Mac had a magical year like Connors 74, Connors often had Macs number, and as the undisputed number one through the 70s, would have been tougher for Mac to dislodge in the 80s. Mac had the amazing talent, but Connors enough guts to tough it out every time!

Without Borg, Connors would have dominated the 80s as well.
