Yes, I am excited for this story because it's my first non-disney story! So please, I hope you still read it even though it's not Nelena or anything like that. And sorry this first chapter is boring. It's the introduction to everything and I promise it will get better.

Paige Somers was on her way to work. "Another day, another dollar," she murmured. She hoped that this was the day that she would get a raise in her salary. The brunette breathed as a white misty smoke flowed out of her mouth as the result of a snowy day.


Paige warmed her arm by rubbing it back and forth, but shuddered. She looked down to the air-conditioning controls and turned up the heater. "Damn this weather," she snarled, but sighed a few moments later. "Hopefully at work will be a better day."


Hopefully.

As she finally reached the parking lot, she grabbed all her belongings and carefully stepped out of her car. Paige reached for her car keys, making the car light blink.


"Oh hey Paige," she heard one of her co-workers said.


"Hi Ronnie," she replied, tucking in a strand of her beautiful, wavy hair behind her ear. "How are you?"


"I'm a little worried," Ronnie said.


"Worried for what?" Paige became curious.


"I heard that Mr. Craig is letting go of someone," this news she heard made her heart beat insanely. She looked at Paige's pale face and knew she shouldn't have said that. "But you probably don't have to worry. You are one of his best workers, Paige."


She nodded repeatedly and stumbled on her words. "Y-yeah, you are totally right. I-I don't have anything to worry about."


Ronnie felt a little sorry for the girl so she pulled her to her side and patted on her shoulders. "It'll be fine."

Paige was in her office, staring blankly at her computer. 'No need to worry, Paige. Everything is going to be alright.' Just then, a somebody walked in that made her jump.


"Oh, I'm sorry for scaring you Paige," Mr. Craig's assistant came in. "But Mr. Craig said he wanted to see you."


Paige's throat went dry, her heart sank, and beads of sweat started to form on her forehead. "A-alright, I'll be right there."


This can't be, can it? She can't believe that she was getting fired at the job she loved, the only job she had, and the job that makes the money to pay the rent for her home. Paige closed her eyes shut and took a deep breath before entering his office. She nodded as a sign telling her that she can do this. Her eyes immediately opened and turned the doorknob.


"Paige, please take a seat."
