This is the second cat tree I built using mostly materials I got for free, had leftover from other projects or bought at a discount. The only things that really cost me were the contact cement, rug remnant and lag screws and that all added up to about $40. I don't show how I put all the parts together but I drilled pilot holes and used deck screws. Just be careful that you sink them in deep enough so your cats don't get hurt on them. Done right, you can't even feel them through the carpet.

  • you could earn a fortune for building these tailor-made cat tree

  • I grew up in modern cities (concrete jungles..) where people don't build their own decks or mess with wood in general. Never used anything bigger than a mini wrench to fix up Ikea furniture or ever seen my dad hold a power tool. I like cats, but I'm just really amazed at how much work you put into gathering materials & building something from scratch for your pet's enjoyment. You really love your cat! I'm sure a lot of thought was put into editing this video too, to help other people. WELL DONE!
