xD lol the one game I could not beat. Anyway this reference was really challenging for some reason, so I did my own sort of style for the hair and most of her clothing. It turned out ok I guess. But she deffintly is probly the coolist game character of all time...haha, I (used to) have a crush on her :DDDD oh and this weekend I had to go to my dads house so that's why the atmosphear changed in the middle of the video. Lol Lightning FTW!!!!!!!!

this guy has given the reference link to his work - it is INSPIRED from the original o.O what more can he do if he wants to draw a fan-art?? If I want to draw Claire Farron from Final Fantasy I obviously will need a reference. Or in ur terms everybody except the makers of the franchise are COPYING and nobody is allowed to do even a fan-art?? are you familiar with the term? fan-art?

@WhyLimeTime Woah woah woah, sir! You're forgetting that practicing with materials is just as important. There's absolutely nothing wrong with copying an image that already exists. If you put in a portfolio and say, "This is an original character," then that's wrong. However, there's also nothing wrong with showing the process for practicing online. Anyone with a reasonable opinion in the "art community" knows that. People copy photos and other artworks all of the time for practice.

@caricodiethel Yes this is true HOWEVER, its not generally a good idea to submit a piece of fanart in a portfolio. Potential employers dont always look kindly upon seeing fanart in a portfolio as they generally want to see your own original work.

I'm not saying that copying an image for practice or doing fanart is bad. I'm all for it in fact, but I'm just saying that most employers don't want to see it in your portfolio because they want to see what you can create yourself.
