Eco-Friendly Bricks From Fly Ash

Fly ash bricks are a solution to recycle this environmentally harmful by-product of power plants. In a context in which the construction industry is undergoing major changes to adjust to new environmental challenges, fly ash bricks is an innovative product that deserves attention. So Sarwat, our Community Correspondent in Chhattisgarh, decided to make a video on the manufacturing process of these bricks, to publicize this rather eco-friendly product. Indeed, fly ash bricks enable the recycling of by-products of thermal power plants. If not used to manufacture these bricks, fly ash has a very harmful impact on the environment. Fly ash bricks are made by mixing fly ash with other raw materials, such as gypsum, lime, sand and gravel. The resulting product is then pressurized to produce bricks that are extremely solid and suitable for all types of construction, including the heaviest. The fact that these bricks are cheaper and bigger than traditional red bricks also constitutes an important asset. These bricks are a quality product providing an innovative solution to power plants waste material. Hence, the Chhattisgarh Government took up the initiative of subsidizing these bricks to encourage individuals to use this material to construct their houses. Government constructions are also urged to use this product. In a world where the impact of human activity is putting our environment under increasing threat and pressure, this type of innovation definitely deserves being complimented and supported.

What is fly ash, how is it created? How is it harmful to the environment, and if it is, why is it not dangerous for the life that interacts with it when it's been turned into a brick and used in construction? Finding uses for by-product that would otherwise be harmful or go to waste is great, but I think it would be helpful if these 2 ideas were addressed as least in the description.
