I have this problem with my ex500(gpz500), it won't idle, and i want u to give me some advices about it.
This problem appeared soon, it went fine until now, so i figure if i change the spark plugs and give it a carb sync it will run properly?

  • Set idle to 1250-1300rpm, and balancing the carbs makes a big difference to the smoothness of the idle. Also check the mixture screw is 2 turns out +/- 1/4 turn. Mine were 1 1/2 and 1 turn which gave lumpy idle.

  • Have you tried turning the idle up with the screw under the left hand carb?

Also have you checked to see if there is crappy fuel in the tank, ive just emptied out a load of rusty fuel that got in the carbs on your sort of model just lately !
