A lot of people get the impression, probably from the news, that the Republican Party's base are those people who are considered to be quacks (i.e. the 'birthers', the 'they're taking away our rights' crowd, the 'all Democrats are commies crowd', and the religious right). Can the Republican Party foresee continued success knowing that these people are its base? Should we who value liberty as our forefathers intended it start voting Libertarian?

Opposition to healthcare insurance reform has, so far, consisted of non-fact-based assertions about its provisions (misinformation, disinformation), scare tactics about its intentions, smears regarding its proponents, hectoring & disruption by "astroturfers" at town hall meetings, and calls to loyalty to political wing(s) and party(ies). Can you raise the level of your input out of that realm?

wow i never said the 50 million who dont have health care don't work hard...must have been drunk and angry when you read my comment b/c you totally got it wrong. the health care system is bad because the same geniuses that are trying to fix it created it. (THE GOVERNMENT). fuck that, they need to go back to their original legal job...which is to protect our national security..not run our lives and regulate the free market.

Numerous so called "hard working" people get ripped off and abandoned by their health care providers when they need them the most. These money making machines have one goal in life and that is to make and save money as much as possible...even when people are dying...who the hell are you to say that the 40-50 million U.S. citizens who don't have health care don't work hard. This is a basic RIGHT and in a country like the United States it's sad to see how BAD the health care system is.
