I agree with you guys 100%--the senseless destruction of the Henryton Center has to stop. I've been going there since the late 90's. It was in way better shape back then because it was younger and a caretaker lived on the premises and he kept the windows and doors locked up.
In all the literally dozens of times I've gone there, never ONCE have I gotten the urge to destroy anything.
Also, sorry guys, but in all my visits never once have I detected the presence of anything paranormal.

I want it to stop, I am too young to go exploring with my friends but it wont be anything left by the time I get to. =(

This is ridiculous and pisses me off. I too go to abandonments for photography alone. Litter, destruction and graffiti make locations so much less beautiful and interesting to go to. I personally know about 10 teenagers that have been to Henryton and acted very responsible and mature, it's sad to see even adults are assisting in the vandalism.

I've been to Henryton twice to explore and take pictures and enjoy the obsolescence of the place. Why do kids think it's a good idea to kick in most of the walls? Taking a picture through the walls can be a pretty cool effect, but it is absolutely not worth it. It's disgusting to see this happening. It's even worse that the people in this video aren't even just stupid kids. The only adults we ran into were a photographer and some guys with a tripod with them. Don't abuse my beloved Henryton.

It's bad enough buildings are demolished legally. But this is just sick.

Damn savages. I think it's a travesty that anyone would want to destroy a building that is/or should be on the National Register of Historic Places. They need more patrols there. Like the Glenn Dale Hospital. It's being preserved because of the high police presence.

it is such a shame to see people doing this an ruing it for everyone else. what do they get out of it? why do they do it? what would be nice to see is if while they were breaking windows, one of them felt out and snapped his neck....

What needs to be done, if I was there and caught these thieves, I would have taken that Sawzall, and cut them from their assholes to their eyeballs. This is a historic place, and anyone who goes there with the intent of vandalizing it, and if I am there, you will be sorry when I catch you.

You can yell police without them seing you and most of the time the vandals will take off. I have done this several times due to the irratation of the vandals.
Kat I love this one! I cried watching it!
May I post this on the PRRS myspace page?
