Here's Q freestyle testing to see if the Trip Mats are good enough for skratching! Trip Mats are designed for club, mixing, party rockin and Juggling Djs! Slightly thicker than Butter Rugs for a bit more grip! Plus they look super hypnotic and gets you in the zone almost instantaneously!

Q's favorite slip mats are the white Butter Rugs (Frosted Plates) with Flying Carpets underneath, but he says after skratching on the Trip Mats for a while, he didn't even notice the difference!

Trip Mats are Already sold out! New design and upgrade coming soon to thudrumble.com & djqbert.com!

Q is skratching on the New "Best Of SuperSeal (10 years of Skratchy!) coming soon! Features both sides all skipless samples! About 50 tracks! Members of QbertSkratchUniversity.com get first dibbs on pre-releases of test pressings months in advance! =D

  • Q, I need help. I'm currently using the Technics SH-EX1200 mixer and I feel I need a new mixer. I don't know if I should go for the Vestax PMC5 Pro 4 or Rane TTM 56 (Already got serato, I scratch with wax though). But I also want have a mixer that is nice for doing gigs/club djing. What is the difference between these mixers and my Technics other than the midi buttons? Thanks, Q!

  • @TheWaxMinister i love my new pioneer 909 with the innofader in it!

  • what mixer he is using? i can not recognize it well

  • @shiter50 Vestax 05 pro

lol, many years ago when i began DJing we went to this place called store and bought records :)

I understand that the idea of buying music is long fading from DJing but, if you actually had to spend money and be selective about what you bought a lot of the trash pretending to be music would not be played and a lot of the pretend DJs would not bother based on having to make an investment :)

  • I love how Qbert licks his fingers at 1:03, but he recommends fingertip moistener in one of his other videos.

  • @UTF Seriously, I dont know. I think no. But I would not play some very expensive ones on these. But mainly i though, that they are not soft so they are not so slippery as butter rugz. If you want cool design, take them. If you want it soft and slippery, take butter rugs. :) But I think these are ok too. Sometimes when it is not slippery enough for me, I just put flying carpets between record and slipmat :)

Have fun, and check my channel man! :)

  • @michaelsvejcar So playback is fine but they could potentially damage the record?

  • @UTF not. But they are not much soft.

  • To anyone who has these trip mats: Do they effect the playback of the record at all? (ie slowdown, unwanted distortion)

    Thanks!

  • Hey Qbert, i currently have some old school technics 1210s, and my needles are done working, where can i get some good needles at a cheap price??

  • Can I put the flying carpets on top of my Butter Rugs?

  • I am about to buy a new mixer, and im for a Vestax05 or a stanton sa-5....

    Any recomendations?

  • @skyvanburen hamster style...yes....backwards.

  • That beat is crazy funky.

  • I'm HYPNOTISED!!! D:
