@SaveSoaps Yeah yah, that is why it was forbidden under the penalty of death for the civilian population of the occupied territories to share their food with Soviet POWS.
@nurmiar They didn't have enough food to feed them, the Germans hadn't even planned to capture that many Soviet soldiers so quickly. Also, you must remember that the British navy had a naval blockade against the continent of Europe thus reducing Europe's available food supply.
@jasincl Nonsense, it was Goebbels who told Hitler that Nazi propaganda should become more based in reality, the reality that the war would be long and difficult and that the Germans would face an inferno if they were defeated. He started pursuing this line of discussion in November 1941. Goebbels despised Otto Dietrich's optimistic statement of October 1941 that the Soviets had already been beaten.
@akbarbaby well id rather die then be captured by the soviets -.- out of 91,000 german POW's only 5,000 survived to get out in 1955 while in the west out of 100,000 german POW 99,987 survived in British POW Camps 0-0
@jeffman3003 GERMAN soldiers hated Goebbels! he made speechs saying good things when soldiers were suffering and said that they would win the USSR easliy when Germans were getting killed every day!
@Serge1970ahaha When you're losing a war the last thing you want to do is give supplies to the enemy.

@nurmiar A large percentage of those Soviet POWs captured by the Germans died of starvation between August 1941 and June 1942.
