Hmoob Yuavtsum Hlub Hmoob - Hmong Youtube Artists Collaboration

Hello everyone and Nyob zoo!

On April 23, a group of us friends traveled to MN to attend the Hmong National Development Conference. There we got the chance to be first to hear and see The Kong & Shu Project's rendition of the song "Hmoob Yuav Tsum Hlub Hmoob" by Dr. Nengzong Yang and Xa Lee in the 80's, which featured other Hmong artists such as Koungla Vang, Josh Khang "Proto J", Ciaj Sia Lee, Yeng Vang, Kace Vang, Tou Saiko Lee, Pagnia Xiong, Pat Her, Duce Khan, and Nia Lor. Inspired, our group of friends decided that we should do our own rendition of the song, our own Hmong Youtube Collaboration.

After HND, Ong Vue went on to make the instrumental to Hmoob Yuav Tsum Hlub Hmoob. After months of restless nights working on the instrumental, we finally all got together to work on the music together. On June 13th, everyone met up in Plover, WI and Steven's Point, WI to record. This was a great experience. We really got to know each other and from there on became best of friends. After 3 months of music making, we finally have the final product done!

Our goal in making this cover is to bring other Hmong Youtube Artists/Musicians together and have them do more collaborations. It's one of the best feelings in the world and we hope to see more collaborations in the future.

The Youtube page is made mainly for Hmong Youtube Collaborations. Kauyer Lor and Ong Vue came up with the name "HmoobLubSuab" which in English translates to "The Voice of Hmong".

The message of the song is "Leej twg thiaj yuav hlub Hmoob?" or "Who will love the Hmong?" We responded saying "Kuv mas hlub Hmoob." or "I will love the Hmong.". This is a song made to bring our communities together and to bringing our hmong people closer together through music.
