@Thoralmir She's actually a druidess. According to Celtic mythology, druids were magical practitioners that lived in hollow trees and were worshipers of nature. So this tree appears to be spiritually sentient. The tree possibly promised her eternal life, but she must give a human sacrifice to the tree whenever the time comes. So that's why she "feeds" off of newborns.

Imagine Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Leatherface teamed up against Camilla. Hmmm... It'd probably have Leatherface trying to cut the tree down with Phil, while Freddy and Jason try to protect the baby and try various brutal schemes to kill Camilla. Damn. Be one heck of a fight.
