Composed in 1833. The world premiere took place on November 9, 1835 in the Leipzig Gewandhaus and was conducted by Felix Mendelssohn, with Clara at the piano.

Nice opening of this Concerto, which was written when she was 17. When she was about 27, she started composing a 2nd Piano Concerto, but never completed it. She intended to present it to her husband Robert on his 37th birthday, which was 8 June 1847. She wrote a good portion of the first movement only, but never returned to it for some reason. This first movement was "completed" in 1994, and is called the Konzertsatz in F Minor. It can be heard on my channel. Check it out, it's beautiful!!!!

I hear a lot of Chopin influences. It makes sense, she was very familiar with Chopin's music. This is a great, underrated concerto; nonetheless.
