Helping him with his reading is of course Harrison Ford.
Mark does a very good job here playing the part naturally and with his own style.

At the end you can hear George Lucas tell Harrison he wants him to hang around. We can guess it was to get his input on this new actor's audition.

  • I'm wondering if they're reading from an early version of the script, or improvising their own dialogue?

  • @John6yt The 'sides' that actors are given during readings are rarely the same as the final film for the reasons you stated as well as security.

  • Suggestion: Incluye the word "audition" in the video title, more people will find it, this is too valuable! Thanks for the up

  • @Kilovolver actually, I did that intentionally. If you search for mark hamill audition, you'll see quite a large number of this clip. This was here as insurance if they get pulled. Also, the audio is better here. ;) But thanks anyway.

  • I saw the Will Seltzer reading of Luke and said it was better than Mark's after watching it again, I take it back. Mark's was the most natural.

  • mark was and is a great expressive actor but understimated because his accident chaged the deep look he as modifying the lines on his face. If you can hear him on any conference you can note how much expressive he is also simple talking to any person.

  • Wow this is so cool. I really doubt any of them had any idea just how far this would go and how big it would get! Cheers
