What a shitty video for a really really good band...
A 90's Emo-core band over a crappy fake wrestling mish mash...
-
I can't say how old he is but sunny day first cd and handful of songs from their other cd's is a must for any fan of the genre(whatever u call it)
mineral is just perfect, knapsack is good but samiam is better, although starting to veer away from the sound of the other bands.
I would say they are "emo" but maybe in the way you would group mid/late 90's bands that sound this way together. No so much today though.
ps-obviously benton falls is awesome in my book...anyone know what they are up too?

@JeloMulawin lol, i meant to say emo is the predecessor of 90's screamo, my bad :)

@halfie25 Actually you're right. I forgot to mention that "second wave" emo were mainstream and (90's) Screamo (which do not share any similarities with what people today believe as screamo=emo bands that scream) were underground and DIY oriented. 90's screamo actually make sense as the direct predecessor of emo since both were hardcore-punk subgenres.

@JeloMulawin While I can go with ska's self imposed "waves" I just can't do that with emo or hardcore. rites of Spring was the first official band to be called "emo" in the press, but your second wave bands probably weren't even listening to them. I'm just saying that Benton Falls clearly defies all catogories. Including "emo".

@halfie25 like i dunno, fugazi, rites of spring, indian summer, moss icon, honeywell, swing kids, mohinder.... then it became divided to
1.) so-called "2nd wave" emo like Benton Falls, Get Up Kids, Promise Ring, etc
2.) Screamo (REAL SCREAMO) like Saetia, City of Caterpillar, Orchid, Sailboats, Circle Takes the Square, Neil Perry, Funeral Diner, etc
though personally, I like them both, they're very different from each other...
then you got
3.) "Third wave emo" - MCR, red jumpsuit, etc.
-
@JeloMulawin Awesome... Spout off some "first wave" Emo bands then please...
-
@halfie25 they were emo.........u cud pretty much say 90's - 2003 was the time of the 2nd wave emo died, now being replaced by crappy so-called "emo" pop punk bands. And I am not including screamo here, which took a different direction.
