I clocked in a 90/5 the other day but I average 40-50/5 with cox. I use Verizon for phone service (AT&T blows), and were i living close to a coastline, i'd probably consider verizon for internet due to the way salt air interacts with copper wiring. That said, Pretty much every person i know who has their internet has had a terrible installation with a lousy default modem/router combo. The packages tend to be overpriced and Verizon overstates how valuable the upload speed is for your average user

20/10 in Poughkeepsie, NY for $80 a month. This is robbery and time earners no better! I hate this rape!

The FiOS products keep winning awards + survey rankings for what Verizon offer today. Virtually all the experts realize now that the only way to meet the future demands of the connected home is with fiber. Cable's even looking at the changeover, some report. DOCSIS 3.0 will max out the coax; no more headroom based on physics. Want more broadband? Kill some TV channels.
With fiber-optics, there are no limits; you just add another color of light and bingo: more bandwidth. FiOS wins.
