Verizon introduces a new, symmetrical FiOS Internet service for consumers featuring an upload and download speed of up to 20 megabits per second (Mbps).

Angie, director of broadband customer experience at Verizon, demonstrates how fast uploading 501 photos is with a 20 Mbps upload connection.

A broadband upload connection of up to 20 Mbps is nearly 30x faster than 768 kpbs and 10x faster than 2 Mbps cable uploads.

Currently this plan is available in NY, NJ and CT (Verizon FiOS service areas). Verizon will roll out the 20/20 Mbps service plan in the 13 other states where FiOS service is available soon.

  • I got 20/5 FIOS and it does what I need it to do perfectly.

  • @JayzBeerz Nice to hear that!

  • This is slow broadband i has 60/30

  • Interesting... from which provider? I think you are outside of the U.S.A.?

  • Yes! You got it! The most HD channels and the fastest Internet speeds!

  • The FiOS products keep winning awards + survey rankings for what Verizon offer today. Virtually all the experts realize now that the only way to meet the future demands of the connected home is with fiber. Cable's even looking at the changeover, some report. DOCSIS 3.0 will max out the coax; no more headroom based on physics. Want more broadband? Kill some TV channels.

With fiber-optics, there are no limits; you just add another color of light and bingo: more bandwidth. FiOS wins.

  • I clocked in a 90/5 the other day but I average 40-50/5 with cox. I use Verizon for phone service (AT&T blows), and were i living close to a coastline, i'd probably consider verizon for internet due to the way salt air interacts with copper wiring. That said, Pretty much every person i know who has their internet has had a terrible installation with a lousy default modem/router combo. The packages tend to be overpriced and Verizon overstates how valuable the upload speed is for your average user

  • @ellenatverizon mines 50/8

  • 20/10 in Poughkeepsie, NY for $80 a month. This is robbery and time earners no better! I hate this rape!

  • @ellenatverizon i got 25/25 now and love it

  • Perfect. But costs a lot of money. And who uploads hundreds of pics on a website anyway?

  • i think i got fios not shore box just says veizon

  • i just hope that verizon dosent impost bandwith caps like all the cable providers seem to be doing......

i really like verizon and used to have it till i moved. it was FAST and cheap. im like a couple of miles from it so i hope they run it here sometime

  • how can I get Verizon FiOS in my area? I live nearby Bakersfield, CA. Is there anyway?
