Scottish cadets save the life of a dying gun-shot victim

(Dec 2006) Three Army Cadets from Penicuik were on their way to cadet training night when they heard two loud gun shots. Then a man ran past them holding a sawn-off shot gun, and then the victim ran up towards them. He'd been shot a point-blank range in the stomach. The cadets immediately put their training into practice giving first aid to the injured man, despite fears that the gunman could return. Instead of running away, the three worked together as a team. The first one called the emergency services while the second one immediately tried to stop the bleeding and the third cadet kept look out for the gunman.
