PKK goads Turkish army 1of2

Al Jazeera news reports on the latest in the hostilities between Turkey and the PKK ... will the US allow Turkey to upset the only stability left in Iraq by invading the Kurdish autonomous zone, but on the other hand, how can the US prevent a strategic ally (Turkey) from 'retaliating' after being attacked by a 'terrorist organisation' (even though they are arguably seen as 'freedom fighters' by most Kurds)?
