Skidz Primz 3.0 Basics. In this video I cover how to create shapes, what an active prim is and how to change it, and last how to work with the interface peices.
Also on the note of scripts, while the skidz primz have several scripts in them, only 2 are enabled at all times, reducing lag considerably. Not to mention when not in use you can turn them off, reducing that to 1, with a state of only 1 event.. listen. Also when mono is out of beta :) you will be blown away by the speed :)...
I know how to use the rulers, and perspectives, and I know that the scenario above never comes up, but your limiting your creativity by being forced to use rules to be accurate. The Skidz Primz does free you of that. I will be the first to admit, there functionality is not needed most of the time, but its nice to know its there when it is.
I could set up several examples of scenarios where the skidz primz would work much faster and much more accurate then you could by hand. For example make a prim. shift copy to the right or left at a random distance, select both, hold ctrl to rotate them randomly, now fill the gap between them perfectly.
While I know what you mean by the lag of scripts, this video does not even touch on all the functionality of the skidz primz, like filling gaps, mirroring, mass texture replacement, rotating a prim while maintaining a scale, and so much more. Not to mention that it support cuts, hollows, tapers, and shears on all shapes.
