Star Trek Online Gameplay Video 1 - Messing with the Romulans (1/2)

Took my new cruiser out for a spin after having gotten Lieutenant Commander, and thought I'd up a few gameplay videos.

I'll admit it, as an MMO, it ain't really the best. If it wasn't Star Trek I'd probably have stopped playing already, and I've only had it a couple of days.

Oh yeah, this ship of mine is the USS Chapman, NCC-92222.

This one is messing with the Romulans (1/2).

i dreamed of this game like a half year or something, and found out 2 months ago that it wasn't compatible for my PC, and i ordered a new computer last week, now i'm thinking of buying this game but i have to be sure that it is a good game before i will buy it.

what do you think of the game???

Well, it's very repetitive. You get a new ship every 10 levels, basically when you go up another rank. You start as Lieutenant, then Lt. Commander, Commander, Captain and Admiral.

The ground combat sucks, ship combat is fun, and even though crew will give different abilities, it all feels like the same.

The big problem (for me), is that getting through the levels to the next rank (and next ship) is incredibly monotonous. I just made commander, and honestly, I have no desire to play again :(

What about the online aspect, are there lots of people to play together with and against?

Yeah some of the missions are open - when you zone in (to certain areas), the game automatically teams you up with other people.

I haven't touched on pvp, but I do believe it's got it.

I would play this game everyday of my life only if I had enough money to buy the game. Is there a monthly fees?

Yeah about $15-$20 or so (every month), and you get the first month free when you buy the game.

I love that it's Star Trek, but despite that, it's far from being the most enjoyable game I've ever played. Still, it's definitely far from being the least enjoyable game I've ever played too.

How big is the universe in this game? Is there alot of solar systems and space to explore?

aah the romulans always fun to make them blow up but then again making anything blow up is always fun
