Tornado Warning 2010, July 17, Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Minnesota

3/4 inches of rain fell here in Arden Hills and there were high winds at the front of the storm. Nothing too exceptional here other than wide power outages in all the surrounding neighborhoods. This one of the few homes that still had power after the storm for about a 1/2 mile radius.

  • We had it bad here in Blaine too.

  • @sillybanana22 I was working in Blaine when it hit, it was really intense!

But I came home (I live in Mounds View) and half the city, including me was without power for the night.

  • @HaseosAtoli, there is not a lot of tree damage near my house but the power grid got hammered locally here as well.

  • @sillybanana22, I heard tree branches popping from the wind but there was nothing note worthy for downed branches around the immediate neighborhood. Apparently, the power-lines took a hit.

  • I was thinking you were probley going to film this. LOL We were suppose to get it here too, but it has only rained a little so far and hear some rumbling. Its 10:43 pm and the warning is suppose to last till 11 pm. We got maybe 10 mph winds so far so i think we will miss out on it.

  • @virtualguitarist, Apparently, the worst of the storm slipped South and North of here.

  • yep i remember dis one

  • @bethatonegirl there are no sentry's in the Twin Cities area but alot of thunderbolts instead

  • I was an FBO for the Anoka Co.Blane Airport (KANE) when the tornado hit and that was the most intense experience i have ever had! Forcing all the pilots to get all the planes into this big hangar and all the personnel inside.

  • @ewinmn i ment where you camping

  • @ewinmn if the sirens went off at your place that would be bad

  • i totally remember this!!! i was working at an outdoor water park! (bunker beach wave pool) we had to close the whole park down about 40 minutes before the storm hit thankfully everyone left and got home safely, except all of us lifeguards had to stay till everyone was gone. we ended up having to seek shelter under the wave pool till the worst of the storm passed. when i was driving home there was soooo much damage! all of the traffic lights were out! i will never ever forget it

  • i remember that THAT ONE WAS bad.

  • dang, i was camping when this happend. i wish i was there to see it :D

  • @bulldozer950 Actually that other siren is a sentry 10v2t

  • if it were a tornado warning i would be in the basement instead of outside
