Plan "B" at Big Lagoon

When friends Josh Waldrop and Pete Gifford met up with Kumpam Bazua at the Big Lagoon Park, in Norcal, to do some flying, They realized that wind power, alone, wouldn't get them as high as they needed to do some filming. So Josh introduced Pete to Plan "B". Now he's hooked and We hope you will feel the same. Enjoy!

OMG!! What a great video!! Was uploading a recent fishing video taken on Big Lagoon when I saw yours.
This is great! In the 16 yrs we've lived here I've never seen anyone flying on the lagoon before - windsurfing on a good day, but not flying!!
Did some parasailing in Mexico & took hang gliding lessons in Monterey, but didn't have a camera & really wanted one to capture the experience. Love the idea of unassisted flying, &your backpack assist is a great!

Hey Josh, Great video. I especially loved it because I flew Big Lagoon in Nov 06. Didn't know others were flying that area too. Looks the same. Very beautiful area.

Towards the middle of the video, it looks like you're doing barrel rolls with that fish-eye lense. Are you or is it the way the camera is? I'm a PPG pilot in training right now. How do you mount a camera on your gear so you can videotape yourself???

I used a monopod and helded the camera looking back towards us....It would be hard to set up a mount, and fly solo...but there are a few out there that do. Jimmy Hall,
from seatoskyproductions has a mount, I think he made it himself. good luck with all that. pete
