  • sorry I took so long, the big deal is that sending $750M on a pipeline from an area with a critical water shortage is trademark State Government sillyness

  • I think the idea is that the government saves water in the Northern Victoria Irrigation Renewal Project (approximately 225 billion litres) and therefore they can afford to pipe the 75 billion litres down the pipe to Sugarloaf, the leftover two thirds will be split fifty fifty between irrigation and the environment. Having said this the two major water projects (this and the desal plant) are band aids for the problem which is excessive consumption by ignorant consumers and government.

  • People in the country rightly see city folk as wasteful and not made to appreciate the value of water

  • Fires-Water-Public Heath-Taxes-Public Transport-Roads, all in dire straights

Government Revenue Raising, in perfect order

    Go away Brumby you swine

  • I dont understand what you mean with "I dont understand the big deal."

  • can some1 tell be the big deal

  • realy i dont know. .......so water is need ed in melbourn

  • i dont understand the big deal

  • This seems to be the perfect example of how it should NOT be done. Simply transporting water from one place to another is NOT the solution. Only an integrated approach is likely to succeed, meaning that with the transported water considerable contribution MUST be made to restore eco-systems (forests) otherwise it will turn out to be a one way road, excuse me, pipeline., THAT IS NOT concept behind my plan. A good plan must be working both (several) directions.

  • Tim Holding's a first class moron. It's mindboggling he's wasting so much taxpayer money on such a useless project. There's no water to take! The money should be upgrading treatment plants which will provide suitable water for industry and additionally clean up the crap we're dumping in Port Phillip. If Libs get in I think they should use the (no doubt failed) pipeline to instead pump water TO the bush from recycling and desal.
