Luis on the guitar and me on the drums covering Led Zeppelin's Communication Breakdown from the Led Zeppelin I album.

Lead was recorded on a Fender Stratocaster Roadhouse, rhythm on a Epiphone Les Paul Special II and we used a custom-made bass. Rhythm and bass were recorded separately, then patched together with Audacity. All with an M-Audio Producer USB Microphone.

  • Where was the mic placed?

  • @gldfshkpr Right in front of the guitar amp. It's a cheap M-Audio mic, but it doesn't work half bad for the price!

  • @benofthewhite Yeah I have one too. I configured it to work with my video capture. It works pretty decently with the video just having it in the room...What are you using for video capture? I'm using Logitech software with the Pro9000 cam without their drivers. If I use their drivers I can't use the M-Audio Producer mic.

  • @gldfshkpr Oh neat! I do hate when software doesn't want to work together. So I record audio and video separately. The mic with Audacity (free), and both video/audio with my 1080p HD Microsoft Lifecam in the program it came with. Then I use Camtasia (similar to Windows Movie Maker) to match up the audio and video & delete the Lifecam audio. This works great instead of aligning video and audio to make sure it's lipsync'd. It's what I do for my comedy channel as well. Works like a charm!

  • Nice job! Love to here some vocals as well...

  • @gldfshkpr Next time! We'll see if we can get a proper singer in here, too!
