I cried the day he got shot by his father. One of the worst days in my life. I remember exactly where I was at only a few months moved out of Motown.

In 1971 there were many great albums. This album is so beautiful. Led Zeppelin IV was an epic album but this album was MONUMENTAL. Zep was doing their thing but Marvin Gaye put out an incredible album quietly. He is to be awarded for that. I love this song and this album.

It is not a stretch to call Marvin a genius - he had a vision and made this album despite criticism - he knew it was a masterpiece. I admit that the word is used too much but Marvin Gaye was one of the best singer / song-writers ever.

marvin gaye was before my time im a 92 baby but one day i got bored and start listening to my dads cds nd thats when i fell in love with marvin gaye nd old skool period im the only one at skool with mercy me ring tone they think im an old lady..lol
