A Malaysian Silat and Tomoi expert heads a university Bachelor of Martial Arts degree course majoring in Silat & South East Asia Philosophies.

A new and first of its kind university "Bachelor of Martial arts" degree course majoring in Silat & south East Asia Martial Philosophies will be introduced by MAGMA Martial Arts Academy in affiliation with Asia Pacific Open University. Professor Dr. Jak Othman who is a member of the board of the studies of the academy initiated the idea and with the support from the academy fellow professors the course is now ready to commence. The professor himself is also a world renowned expert in Silat and Tomoi (ancient Muay arts) will be anchoring this two year course. The course is open to all martial arts lovers and enthusiasts from around the globe. Minimum requirements to enter are a brown belt or 2 years martial arts experience.
