@doombybbr It was just an example, apparently a poorly chosen one. The relevent point was about the comparative amounts of damage taken by each class, not why the trap was there.
@kellystone84 Not so much communist, just much more even. A party of lvl 15's walk into a bar, a trap goes off. Fighter says "Just a scratch" Rogues says "What trap, i can dodge a speeding bullet" Cleric says "ow, that hurt a bit" Mage says "......" nothing, he got 1shoted. Now we all get to go "Phew, that was close" and slap the rogue for not disarming it properly.
Essentially W.O.T.C made D&D communist. Everyone gets the same stuff at exactly the same time. I am one of the ones who is gonna jump the iron curtain and escape back into the 3.5 west! :)
Just to point this out, you add your CON score not mod to HP at first lvl, giving you much higher score so as to let your PCs not get whipped by a few gobs like in 3.5
very good review, i came back to this after a few months and after playing dnd 4.0 a lot i agree with your points on the classes, please bring out some more :)

@davidsfriend01 but it makes no sense in terms of the campaign, if you owned a bar you wouldn't put a trap there, IT WOULD SCARE THE CUSTOMERS AWAY!

@doombybbr To catch underage mages. Even in fantasy no alcohol for minors. My DM puts traps in all sorts of wierd and wonderful places.

@davidsfriend01 but why was the trap there?

I liked it better when dragons could one shot parties with their breath weapon, it actually made them a threat in combat.
