In 10 episodes here on YouTube Dr. Harding lead you into a new understanding of our beloved mother Earth. Earth, or Gaia as he prefers to say, needs to be taken care of now. The human rase is about to amuse itself to death on how we exploit the resources.
Inspired by James Lovelock (1919 - ) who is a pioneer and rolemodel in this field. He is an independent scientist, author, researcher, environmentalist, and futurist. He is known for proposing the Gaia hypothesis, in which he postulates that the Earth functions as a kind of superorganism.
This qoute from the great philosopher says it all: "All life has intrinsic value, irrespective of its value to humans" - Arne Naess, (1912 - 2009) RIP
Arne Næss was the founder of deep ecology. He is widely regarded as the foremost Norwegian philosopher of the 20th century
Dr. Harding is bringing it all together!
It's simple and plain as can be. We either begin to accommodate Gaia with our lifestyle or we get deselected as a species. In either case we will still have to contend with total global Type II climate change. This civilization will collapse in any case, whether from peak oil leading to the total failure of modern agriculture or climate or simple economic failure, this level of biological overshoot cannot be sustained. It's up to us to determine what comes after. I hope it looks like his view.

I don't get this. I watched these videos purely because the title claimed the subject matter to include deep ecology, and yet he still talks in a shallow manner, that we need to make these changes for our own benefit, for our civilisation to survive etc.

if you want your message to be heard, you will have to change the way you are presenting it. People are not ready to hear it in this tone. It will be interpreted as an attack on people's way of life, as irrational as that is, most people aren't actually rational. I think the world you described sounds wonderful and fulfilling by the way.

"this idea that limitless exploitation of nature is a fundamental assumption in our present ecomomical system".. More of the needs for the future, more interaction and reconnection and this will end the Ipods and the free newspaper. Also a mindblowning Descartes quote "pay not attention - it is only the squick for a machine". WATCH THIS POST PLEASE!!!! Everyone is looking to Copenhagen for a deal, but you should be looking here... 219 views is almost depressing
